Ceilings

ceiling is an overhead interior surface that covers the upper limits of a room. It is not generally considered a structural element, but a finished surface concealing the underside of the roof structure or the floor of a story above. Ceilings can be decorated to taste, and there are many fine examples of frescoes and artwork on ceilings especially in religious buildings.

WHY CEILING DESIGNS ARE IMPORTANT:

Your ceiling’s decor can determine the look and feel of the entire space: done well, the ceiling can play a huge factor in how large an area appears. There are certain designs that work better for shorter ceilings and others that are better for higher ceilings. Our interior design staff at Interior Affairs can help you find the perfect design to make your space feel like the perfect home.

DON’T FORGET TO LOOK UP: WHY CEILING DESIGN IS IMPORTANT TO YOUR DECOR

When you are on a power walk, it is important to occasionally look down, to check the ebbs and flows of the uneven pavement or grass. But in interior design, it is just as important to not only pay attention to the flooring, but also to the ceiling. When you are walking through, or seated in a space, the ceiling can become a focal point, and design element if you consider it when redecorating. At Interior Affairs, our interior designers think the ceiling is often neglected, but can be used to enhance the overall feel of a room, and our clients agree!
